Taking Food Culture to the Next Level through the Kibun History of Innovation and New Challenges

Masahito Hoashi ChairmanThe Kibun Group has broadly and actively expanded its business, focusing on its chilled foods business, which mainly consists of fish paste-based products. In the 70 years since its founding, the Kibun Group has grown into a company with sales of 100 billion yen for its foods and logistics businesses taken together. I believe that this achievement is the result of our succession to a founding spirit that has continually sought innovation and new challenges by thinking outside the box. Companies must always respond nimbly to the trends of the times. This does not mean merely meeting the demands of the times; rather, companies have to read ahead of the times and act appropriately while attempting to stay in harmony with society. We at Kibun are sincerely committed to dietary life and endeavor to provide food styles that are in step with the times.

At Kibun we are determined to improve tremendously with a view toward the future. Toward that end we will continue pursuing innovations and new challenges, meeting new customer needs, and putting effort into R&D and product development. Part of our manufacturing philosophy is: "When in doubt, do not purchase the stock, do not produce, do not ship, and do not sell." This concept has been driven into all of Kibun's employees for the past 40 years, long before the phrase "food safety" became common. It reflects our conviction that food cannot truly be called delicious unless it is safe. It is our desire to deliver great tasting foods that more accurately meet the needs of customers and the times. Driven by this commitment, we will continue to strive relentlessly in all our business activities day in and day out.
